The Barcelona Card is available for purchase online or at tourist offices in the city. It is available in two types: the Barcelona Card and the Barcelona Card Express. The Barcelona Card is valid for 3, 4, or 5 consecutive days, while the Barcelona Card Express is valid for 2 consecutive days. Both types of cards come with a guidebook that includes information about the attractions and discounts available with the card.

While the 48-Hour Barcelona Card Express offers discounts and free public transportation, it doesn’t cover entrance fees to museums and attractions. For short trips (even less than 3 days), the 72-hour card might be a better deal because it likely includes those entrance fees in addition to the discounts and transportation.

Types

The Barcelona Card is available in three types: adult, child, and senior. The adult card is for travelers aged 18-64, the child card is for travellers aged 4-12, and the senior card is for travelers aged 65 and above. The prices of the cards is 55€, 65€ and  77€ for 3,4 and 5 days respectively for Adults and for children is 32€, 42€ and 47€ respectively. The Barcelona Card Express is only available in the adult type costing 27€.

Validity

The Barcelona Card is valid for consecutive days, starting from the first day of use. The Barcelona Card Express is also valid for consecutive days, but it is only available for 2 days. The card provides free access to over 20 museums and attractions in Barcelona, and discounted access to Casa Amatller, Casa Vicens, Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Batllo and many more. It also provides free unlimited rides on public transportation, including buses, metro, and trains within Barcelona city limits.
